THE A3C HIP HOP FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES 2010 DATES

(ATLANTA,GA – MARCH 16, 2010) On the eve of the South by Southwest Music Festival, A3C founders have announced the dates for the 2010 A3C Hip Hop Festival in Atlanta. Dates for A3C 2010 will be October 7,8, and 9.

Brian Knott, A3C Hip Hop Festival founder explains, “When we were thinking about where and when to make our announcement SXSW seemed like the perfect place. With over 100 A3C artists performing here this weekend and many of our label partners and sponsors here as well it seemed like a great time for us to kick off A3C 2010. This event is what we aspire to be for the Hip Hop community and using this as the launching pad for our 2010 installment just made sense.”

The A3C team will be on site at SXSW in Austin from March 16^th through March 21^st checking out new talent for fall showcases, meeting with A3C partners and sponsors and catching up with many of the over 100 past A3C performers who are performing at Austin this week.

“Being 6 months out from our event, SXSW presents the perfect opportunity for us to start building with labels and artists. They are figuring out Q3 and Q4 release schedules and starting to think about Fall tour schedules and as we have grown, we’re counting on being a big part of helping everyone launch their new projects. If SXSW is music’s spring break, then we hope that A3C can be Hip Hop’s fall break.” Says Knott.

The A3C is continuing to work on additional partnerships to bring the best in Hip Hop programming to the weekend-long festival in Atlanta. Specific showcase, panel, and artist updates will be announced through the festival’s website on a rolling basis and continuing through the event’s start on October 7th. ABOUT THE A3C: Now in its 6^th year, the A3C Hip Hop Festival is a 2-day, 3-night event featuring over 200 artists performing at 33+ events and held annually in Atlanta, GA featuring live performances from some of Hip Hop’s most elite artists. The live performance schedule is enhanced by day and evening events showcasing some of the most exciting breakdance, graphic art, fashion, film, equipment demonstrations and panels relating to Hip Hop culture.

The 2010 A3C is held in multiple venues all located within easy walking distance of each other in Atlanta. Since 2005, the event has featured over 600 of the most exciting artists in Hip Hop including: Rakim, Buckshot, Black Sheep, DJ Premier, The Juice Crew, Biz Markie, Del the Funky Homosapien, The Clipse, Souls of Mischief, Little Brother, Wale, and B.o.B. In 2009, the A3C was attended by over 12,000 fans and featured partnerships and co-sponsored events with MySpace, Red Bull, Duck Down Records, URB, NARAS, BMI, SESAC, and more.
